Kentucky Derby 2008 Result

It was the 5-2 favourite, Big Brown who won the 2008 Kentucky Derby, coming home by five lengths from the ill fated, Eight Bells, who was the first filly to run in the race for nine years. She unfortunately fractured both her front two ankles at the end of the race and had to be put down immediately. Her death took the gloss off what had been a great race and one that highlighted Big Brown as one of the great race horses of our time. Third home was Denis Of Cork.
